ABOUT

A technology professional who builds for real people

Matt is a builder. He has spent his career making software that people rely on, both as the developer writing it and as the leader responsible for the team, its technology strategy, and its roadmap. He is happiest when he gets to do both: working closely with product partners on where things should go, then staying near the code through system design, code review, and pairing.

That work has spanned e-commerce fulfillment, online casino platforms, mortgage, payments, and the internal tools and frameworks other engineers build on, at startups and large enterprises alike. Before software he spent years in IT, running networks, data centers, and support, which still shapes how he thinks about infrastructure and the people who depend on it. What motivates him is the same in every setting: seeing software make a real difference for the people who use it, and helping the people who build it grow through mentoring, teaching, and honest feedback. Folded Space Labs is where he applies that to his own products: useful, well-crafted, respectful, and privacy-preserving.

Pragmatic and optimistic by temperament, Matt studied engineering at the University of Michigan and now lives and works in Detroit. Away from the keyboard he is an avid indie film enthusiast, and keeps a running log on Letterboxd.

CURRENT MISSIONS

Matt is starting a new hands-on staff engineering role in September 2026. Folded Space Labs is where he has brought his consulting work together with his own products, putting his software and technology experience to work on solutions for others.
